Taupo offers unlimited potential to anglers at all levels of experience. Anglers require a Lake Taupo trout fishing licence, purchased for day, week or season from sporting goods stores, dairies, service stations, hotels/motels & visitor centres. Nearly all streams in district are restricted to fly fishing.
Check with local Department of Conservation, anglers or sporting goods' retailers to ensure you are fishing within the law.
